About this piece:
“I used to walk home sometimes when we parked a tractor in the field waiting for the next day’s work. You could hear grasshoppers and the occasional bird, crickets chirping that got louder as the sun started to go down. It never felt like a long walk because the air was still warm and it felt like a personal show watching the light shift on the horizon and make everything glow. I didn’t think much about these walks at the time, but now I realize how sweet those memories really are.
Taking Our Sweet Time is inspired by the glow of a sunset that wraps around you, casting everything with a warmth that you can feel as you head out into the wide open spaces that call you home.”
